Terms and Condition

[Voice & Data]

• Terms: 12months
Your due date will ALWAYS be the last day of each month.
• We suggest that you provide us with your cellphone number for the SMS notification for your due date and such. Note that if we don’t have your cellphone number, we are not liable for any consequences. Please also make sure to update us for any changes of your cellphone number & address.
• There will be no refunds given once payment has been made. Smartpit payments are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
• Actual speed of Internet connection may vary. Stated Speed in our ads is not guaranteed.
• Internet coverage areas are limited depending on the availability of its network.
• Return Policy: All purchased items are final except for items with out-of-box failure which may be exchanged within 30days from date of purchase. MTREND will accept, for return, items that are in new condition, unworn, unaltered and free of damaged by the customer. *Pre-owned device comes with 30days limited time warranty. Battery: We cannot be responsible for battery life after 30days.
• Internet connection or its connection setup outside Japan cannot be guaranteed and will not be supported.
• Payments will reflect on your account the next day. If the payment is not received by the due date, your internet connection will be deactivated and will have to pay ¥1,500 for re-connection fee. It may take 1-3 working days to reactivate a temporarily deactivated account. “Working Day” means Monday through Friday, excluding Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.
• If you have not reactivated your account for 7days, your account will be shut down. New SIM card needs to be issued if you wish to continue the service again.
• Depending on the plan you select, deposit may be required. Please see separately attached “How to Get Your Deposit back”. Bank fee of ¥350 will be deducted from deposit refund.
• A SIM card (and/or device) must be returned to MTREND. Please see separately attached “Return the device and/or SIM card” to find out how to return.
• MTREND shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage, injury or inconvenience arising from any aspect of our service.
• MTREND is not liable to you for any damages, cost, loss or expenses suffered as a result of the termination or suspension of your account or the service.
• MTREND reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the services at any time with or without notice.

[Unlimited Phone Call]

• This is an “unlimited” call service, but please note that each call is limited to 5 minutes and is only for domestic calls. Once a call is over 5 minutes, every 1 minute afterwards will be charged an additional ¥50. This additional charge will be billed on the next month or two months later after the call.
• Sending an SMS is not covered by an “Unlimited Call”.
• This service offers “unlimited phone calls” but the following cases are not subject to this service.
・Text messages (SMS) to an international address (callers)
・If using a call forwarding service calls the forwarding caller.
・Calls to recorded messaging centres (recording, replay, etc.), navigation dial (0570), Telecom (a service offered by NTT), phone directory assistance, and all types of paid calls such as satellite phones, etc. *Calls from overseas and international calls are both not subject to this service.
・This service uses Softbank’s network, and if Softbank deems that a call is fraudulent and prolonged, it may disconnect such calls. A telephone number specified by Softbank (call to a specific telephone number to connect to a telephone service provided by another company) is not subject to free-of-charge calls. Additionally, this agreement may be cancelled if continuously used for another purpose besides a call or for illegal purposes.

[SMS / Text Message]

• Sending SMS(Text Messages) is not covered by an “Unlimited Call”.
• The charge for sending domestic SMS is ¥5/message. *Receiving SMS is free of charge.
• SMS(Text Message) cannot be sent overseas.

About Your Deposit

By making a deposit, you agree to, accept and understand the following conditions.

If you do not return your device and/or SIM card, or if you return your device and/or SIM card in a damaged, altered or destroyed condition, or if you don’t use service for at least 6 months straight, your deposit will not be refunded. You must return/send your device within 5 days after payment due date of your service. If you fail to do so, your deposit will not be refunded. Your refund will be issued within 10(ten) business days after we receive your device. We recommend that you use a traceable and insured courier service to send your device. Bank fee of ¥350 will be deducted from deposit refund. MTREND will not be responsible for any delivery delays by shipping carrier and does not hold any responsibility for any loss of shipment due to shipping carrier’s mistakes or wrongdoings. You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your device. Cash on delivery (COD) charge will be deducted from your deposit.
